what is spiritual growth coaching?
We all have a boat that we paddle around in – even if the boat is uncomfortable or scary, it’s still a familiar place with certain boundaries in which we go about our daily lives.
What does your boat look like? Are you comfortable? Depressed? Angry? Feel like life is over and your dreams expired? Not sure if God is still paying attention?
Spiritual growth coaching will help you step out of your comfort zone and trust God more deeply:
- Utilizing your talents and not being held back by fear or perceived lack of ability or giftedness.
- Understanding what God has called you to do and taking steps toward that goal.
- Working through fear and trusting God for the outcome.
- Pursuing Jesus as the measurement of success in your life.
- Experiencing deep joy even in difficult circumstances because you’re walking with God.
- Believing God will equip you in whatever task He calls you to do.
- Taking the necessary steps to get help with the storms of life and trusting God to work a process of healing and restoration.
The 4 steps to spiritual growth
Whether you’re trying to reach a goal, take steps toward healing, navigate a difficult situation, or make a change, the process of stepping out of your boat toward growing spiritually are:
1. stand up [God speaks to me]
2. step out [I am ready to follow God]
3. start walking [I walk in faith]
4. seize the storm [I trust God’s plan]
Spiritual Disciplines
The best way to get to know God and His plans for you is to spend time with Him daily.
Carve out time in your schedule to practice spiritual disciplines like:
- Reading your Bible
- Praying
- Meditating through Centering Prayer
- Journaling
- Spend quiet time walking through a labyrinth or prayer garden
- Organize your schedule to create a Sabbath Day or Day of Rest
This is just a short list of ideas!
